South Korea will be met by a heightened security presence when the team returns from its World Cup campaign after death threats were directed at manager Hong Myung-bo, according to Yahoo Sports. Hong, 57, resigned after South Korea failed to reach the knockout stage, despite an opening comeback win over the Czech Republic, followed by Group A losses to South Africa and Mexico; their hopes of advancing as a third-place team ended when DR Congo beat Uzbekistan 3-1 on Saturday. Police said 160 riot and airport officers will be deployed when the team arrives in Incheon on Tuesday, with the Incheon International Airport Corporation adding 25 extra officers, and authorities said they will respond strictly to illegal acts including throwing objects.
