Anthropic renegotiated parts of its partnership terms with Amazon earlier this year, increasing Amazon’s costs to use Anthropic models in its products, according to people familiar with the matter.
According to Odaily, the adjustment occurred during a reassessment of the companies’ cooperation and was described as reflecting Anthropic’s stronger bargaining position in supplying its core models.
Amazon, an early key investor in Anthropic, is evaluating how to optimize its cost structure for using the AI models in response to potential upward pressure on fees. Neither company has publicly disclosed details of the pricing changes.
