Data: Retail investors account for 18% of options trading, a record high

The Kobeissi Letter said in a post that the share of retail investors in options trading has just hit a record high of 18%. This proportion is even higher than during the meme boom in 2021. According to Options Clearing Corp., the average daily option trading volume has reached a record 47 million this year. This means that individual investors now trade 8.50 million options contracts per day.
