USDT traded more than 8.5% above India’s dollar rate on June 29, with local quotes near INR 102.88. According to NS3.AI, USD/INR closed near INR 94.65, while Tether USDt remained close to $1 globally.
India’s Enforcement Directorate alleged USDT-based outward remittance activity conducted without authorization from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The agency said the suspected activity involved potential contraventions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) exceeding INR 2,500 crore.
