Polymarket has announced a “World Cup Knockout Perfect Prediction” contest with a total prize pool of $2 million. According to Odaily, the contest is open to legal residents of 47 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., excluding users in Maryland, Nevada, and Utah, and participants must be of legal adult age; entries are invalid in prohibited regions.
The World Cup knockout stage includes 32 matches, with 30 matches still available for predictions. Polymarket said that if a participant achieves 70% prediction accuracy for each match, the probability of winning is about 1 in 64,152.
The announcement also compared the contest to March Madness, noting that March Madness includes 64 games and is about five orders of magnitude more difficult.
