According to BeInCrypto, CPI-based comparisons put GTA 3’s $50 launch price in 2001 at about $94.29 in 2026 and GTA 5’s $60 launch price at about $85.87, making GTA 6 appear cheaper than both.
However, BeInCrypto notes CPI does not reflect wage growth: US Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows real average hourly earnings fell 0.7% between May 2025 and May 2026. GTA 6 is due to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X; Take-Two and Rockstar face affordability concerns, and Take-Two shares fell after the pricing announcement.
