South Korea opened Group A with wins over El Salvador (1-0) and Czechia (2-1) but then lost 1-0 to Mexico and 1-0 to South Africa to finish on three points and miss the Round of 32. South Africa advanced to the Round of 32 for the first time in the country’s World Cup history.
