Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Command said a U.S. “blind attack” on Sirik would not resolve what it described as uncertainty over Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Jin10, the IRGC Navy Command said its attacks on violators were intended to warn other vessels and to indicate a clear route for passage.
