Ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen sharply after a vessel was struck there on Thursday and another incident occurred over the weekend, though some vessels are still transiting on both the Iranian and Omani sides, according to Bloomberg.
Daily ship movements are down from more than 140 in February to about 30-40 currently. Bloomberg News reporter Stephen Stapczynski said safety concerns are prompting ship owners, captains and energy exporters to reassess the risks of using the waterway.
