Tech reporter Mark Gurman wrote on June 26 that Apple’s rumored touchscreen MacBook Pro could launch later in 2026 or in early 2027, debuting with the current M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, according to 36Kr. Apple is then said to be planning an upgraded version using an M7 chip, aligning with earlier reports that the company may skip the M6 Pro and M6 Max and move directly to the M7 series. The decision to skip high-end M6 chips was linked to cost pressure from memory shortages, and Apple has raised prices for some Mac and iPad products this week, the report said.
