Apple is lobbying the Trump administration for approval to purchase memory chips from Chinese supplier ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) as it faces supplier-related cost pressure following a $263 billion loss in market value.
According to NS3.AI, Apple is seeking to add CXMT to its list of memory suppliers to help ease cost pressure from its existing supply chain.
The report noted that CXMT and Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC) are included on the U.S. Department of Defense’s 1260H list.
