U.S. President Donald Trump has again ordered that all Iraqi oil revenues under U.S. control be deposited into an account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, according to Iran’s Press TV.

According to Jin10, the directive relates to Executive Order 13303, which was first signed after the U.S. military action in Iraq in 2003 and has been renewed annually on U.S. “national security” grounds.

The White House did not issue a press release on the matter, but Trump sent a formal notification to Congress on May 4 regarding the extension.

In the notification, Trump said that obstacles to Iraq’s orderly reconstruction and to restoring and maintaining internal peace and security, as well as developing political, administrative, and economic institutions, continued to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to U.S. national security and foreign policy. He said the executive order therefore had to remain in effect after May 22, 2026.
