China’s A-share market fell broadly in the morning session on June 26, with the three major indexes sliding by midday.
According to Jin10, the Shanghai Composite Index was down 2.14%, the Shenzhen Component Index fell 3.04%, and the ChiNext Index dropped 3.72% at the midday close.
Turnover across the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges totaled 2.43 trillion yuan for the half-day session, up 3.3 billion yuan from the previous trading day.
On the sector front, the glass substrate theme rose against the broader decline, with Triumph Science & Technology nearing the daily limit-up. Some chip-related stocks were active, including Tongcheng New Materials, which hit the daily limit-up. Lithography-related names also strengthened, with Xinlai Applied Materials and Haili Co. touching the daily limit-up.
Nonferrous metals, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors were among the weakest sectors. About 4,600 stocks across the market were lower.
