Galaxy’s head of research said on X that the U.S. Department of Commerce has crossed a “Rubicon” in AI policy by issuing a private directive to Anthropic. According to Odaily, the researcher said the government is effectively asserting it can ban models.
The post added that people are broadly assuming the issue will be resolved and referred to it as “THE LAST MODEL PROBLEM.”
