The B20 token standard is expected to be activated on the Base mainnet at 2:00 on June 27, according to a post by Base senior developer advocate Jon Roethke. According to Foresight News, Roethke said that after the Base Beryl upgrade is activated, the registry activation may take up to about one hour to become fully enabled.
B20 is a new native token standard introduced through the Base Beryl upgrade. It is compatible with ERC-20 and is intended for use cases including stablecoins, real-world assets (RWA), and equity-type assets.
