Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Stjepan Radeljić said it would be “amazing” to knock out the United States in a likely World Cup round-of-32 meeting after Bosnia finished third in Group B with a 3-1 win over Qatar in Wednesday’s group finale. Radeljić, making his first World Cup start, told SiriusXM FC and later local media that Bosnia will rest and prepare for what’s next, adding there is “nothing sweeter than knocking the host out of the championship,” according to Yahoo Sports.
The matchup is not yet confirmed, but the USMNT, as Group D winners, are bracketed to face a third-place team from Groups B, E, F, I or J, with Bosnia currently in that pool. The U.S. finish group play against Türkiye in Los Angeles on Thursday night, and their round-of-32 match is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
