A Micron (MU) chief executive officer has forecast that a memory-demand cycle driven by humanoid robots could last for decades, according to a post on X by Serenity.
According to Odaily, Serenity said the CEO estimated that humanoid robots would require about 10 times the memory used by current L2+ autonomous-driving vehicles, and that this wave of demand is expected to begin within the next 10 years.
Serenity added that Micron expects on-device AI value and pent-up device replacement demand to jointly support growth in memory demand.
Serenity also wrote that industry leaders, including TSMC’s chairman, Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, and Micron’s CEO, view humanoid robots as the next major trend, and that physical AI may become the next development direction.
