U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran had agreed to all of his demands as he commented on oil prices and the status of talks with Iran after a closed-door lunch with Republican senators.

According to Jin10, NBC News reported that Trump made brief remarks to the media after the meeting, describing the Republican Party as “highly united” and calling the United States “the hottest country in the world.”

Trump said the number of factories currently being built was at a record high in U.S. history and that they would soon begin operations, which he said would translate into jobs. He also said U.S. employment data was “incredible.”

Trump added that he had seen oil prices had just fallen below $70, saying he did not expect that to happen “during wartime.” He said Iran’s attitude had been “very good,” and claimed Iran had agreed to all of his demands and “had to” do so.

Separately, Punchbowl reporter Jake Sherman said a Republican senator described the lunch as “a presidential venting session.” The senator said Trump appeared to be in a bad mood from the start, and that an interaction with Senator Bill Cassidy on Iran further intensified his frustration.

The senator said Trump criticized Republicans who voted to support limiting war powers.
