Canada’s gasoline consumption in the first quarter hit a record high, according to Desrosiers Automotive Consultants.
According to Jin10, the Canadian automotive market research firm said domestic gasoline consumption totaled 10.33 million cubic meters, up 4.2% from the same period a year earlier.
Desrosiers executive partner Andrew King said gasoline consumption was high early this year, but prices surged sharply in March due to conflict between the United States and Iran. He said the firm will monitor whether the price jump restrains demand in the second quarter.
