The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said its inspectors will ultimately verify Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities, according to comments by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

According to Jin10, Grossi said the timing—whether it happens in two days, a week, or 10 days—matters but is not the key point, adding that the inspections “will happen.” He described the remarks as the clearest signal so far from the UN nuclear watchdog.

Grossi said a memorandum of understanding signed by the presidents of the United States and Iran “clearly stipulates” that the nuclear activities to be carried out will be under IAEA supervision. He added that the agreement requires Iran to “dilute” its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

The United States and Iran have previously issued conflicting statements on verification. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Iran had agreed to invite IAEA inspectors back into the country, while Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said Iran had not met with Grossi and that there was no clear inspection timetable.
