Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Iran would work together to resist any forces seeking to undermine regional peace.
According to Jin10, Sharif made the remarks at a joint press conference held after talks with Iranian President Pezeshkian in Islamabad on June 23.
Sharif said the two countries would build an “iron wall” to counter any attempts to disrupt peace in the region, adding that both sides were fully determined to defeat any effort to sabotage the peace process.
He described his meeting with Pezeshkian as productive and said the atmosphere was friendly. Sharif said Pakistan and Iran had consistently supported each other during difficult times, and that recent developments had again demonstrated the durability of their friendship and partnership.
Sharif called the meeting a historic moment in Pakistan-Iran relations and welcomed the successful signing last Friday of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
Sharif also said he would visit Tehran next week.
