The U.S. House voted 358-32 on Tuesday to pass a housing bill that includes a ban on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) until 2030. According to NS3.AI, the Senate approved the same bill 85-5 a day earlier.
The legislation now goes to U.S. President Donald Trump, who has signaled support for the measure and is expected to sign it into law on Wednesday.
The bill also contains a carve-out that excludes crypto stablecoins from the CBDC ban.
