China's nationwide e-commerce sales during this year's 618 shopping festival totaled 9.34 trillion yuan, up 4% year on year, according to Ming Pao, citing data from consumer-sector big data provider Xingtu Data.
The festival period ran from May 13 to June 18 and covered major e-commerce platforms, instant retail and community group-buying. The 4% growth marked a sharp slowdown from the 15.2% increase recorded over the same period last year.
