CICC has set a year-end target range of 7,800 to 8,000 for the S&P 500, citing strong earnings growth expectations as index constituents benefit from a sharp rise in U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) capital expenditure, according to Ming Pao.
The forecast was presented by Liu Gang, chief overseas and Hong Kong stock strategy analyst at CICC’s research department, during the bank’s media briefing on its capital market outlook for the second half of 2026.
