Circle has released a formal USDC method specification for its Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), outlining three capabilities aimed at standardizing how automated services and AI agents settle payments using USDC.
According to NS3.AI, the specification defines a standardized approach for USDC payments across EVM-compatible blockchains and Solana.
The release includes what Circle describes as the first crosschain payment profile in MPP, enabled through Circle Gateway.
The specification also adds USDCx, a USDC-backed stablecoin on Stacks.
Circle did not provide user figures or transaction volume data alongside the publication.
