Iranian President Pezeshkian said remarks outside the text of an agreement do not help advance negotiations between Iran and the United States.
According to Jin10, Pezeshkian wrote on social media on June 23 that the effectiveness of Iran-U.S. talks depends on a full commitment to, and concrete implementation of, already defined obligations. He said progress should be measured by actual compliance with established duties, adding that statements beyond the agreement’s text do not help move negotiations forward.
The United States and Iran held their first round of talks in Switzerland, and all parties agreed to reach a final agreement within 60 days.
On June 22, the day the first round ended, U.S. President Donald Trump said at the White House that “if Iran does not comply with the agreement, I will do what I have to do.”
