Ripple said it has received preliminary approval for a crypto-asset service provider license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, a step it said would support launching Ripple Payments across the European Economic Area and aligning with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework.
According to ChainCatcher, the preliminary approval will take effect once final conditions are met.
Ripple added that, combined with its existing electronic money institution license, financial institutions in Europe would be able to access Ripple’s crypto-asset and stablecoin payments infrastructure through a single integration.
