Aztec has reached L2Beat Stage 2 after its on-chain governance revoked ownership of its rollup contract, a move intended to reduce administrative control over the system.
According to NS3.AI, Aztec said the change made the rollup contract code immutable and removed admin override power.
The update follows an incident earlier this month in which a deprecated Aztec Connect contract was drained of roughly $2.1 million. Aztec said the current rollup is a distinct codebase from the deprecated contract.
