A New York attorney has asked a state judge to identify an anonymous claimant seeking legal title to roughly 3.8 million BTC tied to about 39,000 allegedly dormant crypto wallets. According to NS3.AI, the request was made by attorney Ian Cohen in a case filed in New York County Supreme Court.
The lawsuit was brought by a claimant identified as Noah Doe along with two unnamed Wyoming companies. The plaintiffs are seeking legal title to the bitcoin associated with the wallets.
At Monday’s BTC price near $64,500, the bitcoin referenced in the case was valued at approximately $245 billion.
