Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said he previously wrote a publicly available document about Ethereum under an anonymous identity, aiming to test whether AI text analysis can reliably de-anonymize authors at scale.
According to ChainCatcher, Buterin said some recent commentary argues that AI-driven writing-style analysis could make online anonymity difficult to sustain. He said the anonymous document was of “moderate importance” to Ethereum and estimated there are roughly 200 to 2,000 documents in the Ethereum ecosystem with importance at least comparable to that text.
Buterin invited the community and AI tools to try to identify which document he authored anonymously, framing the exercise as a way to evaluate whether AI can uncover authorship through stylistic signals across large collections of text.
