Medical AI startup Prosper AI said it has raised $300 million in a Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Base10 Partners, Emergence Capital, and Y Combinator. According to ChainCatcher, the company’s total funding now stands at about $366 million.

Prosper AI said it builds AI voice agents to handle administrative tasks across the patient visit workflow, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, insurer communications, and billing. The company said it serves more than 150,000 healthcare institutions.

Prosper AI said U.S. healthcare loses more than $450 billion annually to administrative waste and that its system aims to manage key steps from scheduling through payment within a single platform to reduce switching costs between systems.

The company said its revenue has grown about fivefold since its previous funding round in September last year, and that it has formed partnerships with healthcare IT platforms including Athenahealth and ImagineSoftware.
