Peregrine Technologies, a U.S. public safety AI company, has raised $250 million in a Series D funding round at a $6.8 billion valuation. According to ChainCatcher, the valuation is up from $2.5 billion 15 months earlier, and the round was led by existing investors including Sequoia Capital.

Peregrine’s main product is a government data integration platform that connects existing city systems such as police records, 911 logs, permit databases, sensor data, and emergency management systems to enable real-time search. The company says the platform includes role-based access controls and full audit trails, and that it does not collect or hold data itself.

The company said its platform is used by more than 400 law enforcement agencies, covering about 125 million people in North America. It is also operating security fusion centers for eight of the 11 host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Peregrine said it plans to use the new funding for product development, expanding engineering and implementation teams, international expansion, and employee liquidity arrangements. Co-founder and CEO Nick Noone said the company has not decided whether to pursue an initial public offering, but is building internal infrastructure to prepare for a potential listing.

The article cited estimates valuing the government AI market at about $25 billion in 2025, with projections rising to $109 billion by 2035, while noting ongoing civil liberties controversies around AI-enabled law enforcement surveillance.
