Germany defender Nico Schlotterbeck has been ruled out for the rest of the World Cup with an ankle injury, according to Yahoo Sports. The Borussia Dortmund player was hurt in the first half of Germany’s 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast, played on until halftime and was then replaced by Antonio Rudiger. An MRI scan confirmed Schlotterbeck will be sidelined for several weeks; Rudiger is expected to replace him in the starting XI, with Waldemar Anton as additional cover as Germany have already qualified for the Round of 32 with a game to spare.
