TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said his latest supply-chain survey indicates Google is developing an upgraded TPU v9 chip, possibly codenamed “Triggerfish,” based on its TPU v9/Humufish platform, with MediaTek securing the exclusive, higher-priced incremental orders, according to 36Kr. Kuo kept his Humufish lifecycle shipment estimate unchanged at 4 million to 5 million units, and said Google is adding an extra 1 million to 2 million Triggerfish orders. He expects Triggerfish to start production by the end of 2027 and ramp in 2028, and estimated its unit price is about 30% higher than Humufish, potentially adding to MediaTek’s 2028 operating momentum.
