Bitcoin developers are discussing removing BIP 125 replace-by-fee (RBF) signaling from wallet software now that “full-RBF” is standard network policy, making the opt-in flag redundant and a privacy “fingerprint,” according to CoinDesk. Developer rkrux said a Bitcoin Core wallet change is being pursued via a PR. Community participant Murch warned wallets must still set an input sequence value, and inconsistent choices could make transactions easier to track; about 75% already use MAX-2.
