Anthropic has finished training a more capable successor to Mythos 5, AI watcher Andrew Curran said, though the company has not confirmed the model’s existence, name, or capabilities. According to BeInCrypto, Curran said it could ship as Mythos 5.1 or Mythos 6, be restricted to Project Glasswing, or remain internal.
The report comes nine days after US export controls forced Anthropic to suspend Mythos 5 and Fable 5 following a June 12 directive from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to CEO Dario Amodei. Amazon, which has committed up to $25 billion to Anthropic, reportedly warned officials its researchers used Fable 5 to surface attack-ready information.
