The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed a robocall-related rule that could require voice service providers to keep customer identity records for four years after a customer’s service ends. According to NS3.AI, the proposal would also set a $2,500 per-call base forfeiture for know-your-customer (KYC) violations.
The FCC said public comments on the proposal close on June 25.
The proposal also asks whether compliance requirements should differ between prepaid and postpaid customers.
