Thai police and relevant agencies conducted a joint operation across five northeastern provinces, raiding 14 locations and seizing 315 cryptocurrency mining machines.
According to Foresight News, the Bangkok Post reported that the suspects allegedly used illegal electricity connections and tampered with power meters to run the mining equipment.
Authorities estimated total electricity-related losses at about 40.38 million baht, including 5.38 million baht in penalties for electricity violations and about 35 million baht in unpaid electricity bills.
