An open letter to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, signed by 108 former federal prosecutors and agents, urged the State Department to "step up" efforts to secure the release of Binance compliance chief Tigran Gambaryan from a Nigerian prison.
The letter, reportedly led by Katie Haun, an investor and Coinbase board member and a former federal prosecutor, called the minimal government intervention on Gambaryan's behalf "completely ineffective" and stressed that "the consequences of continued inaction could be dire."
The letter's author wrote, We implore you to use the full power of American diplomacy to make a just decision to demand and secure Tigran's immediate release and return to his family and the country he honorably served.
