据财联社报道，多位接近谈判的匿名人士称，英国政府计划强制YouTube、Meta等社交媒体平台提升本地新闻内容的曝光权重，预计最早于本月就相关规则展开公众咨询，并要求BBC、ITV、Channel 4等公共服务广播机构增加新闻内容供给。相关规则也可能延伸至全国性及区域性报纸，细节仍在最终敲定中。
