John Jumper said on X that he will leave Google DeepMind and join Anthropic. According to PANews, Jumper previously co-won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for work on the AlphaFold model.
In his post, Jumper thanked DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis for giving him the opportunity to lead the AlphaFold team six months after he finished his PhD. He also said the Google DeepMind team taught him a lot about how to do research and that he looks forward to the team’s future discoveries.
