X’s Nikita Bier Targets Meta Staff With Public Hiring Pitch

X head of product Nikita Bier publicly pitched Meta employees this week to apply for open roles, promising to match or beat any corporate snack budget Meta offers. According to BeInCrypto, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth told an internal call morale is near its worst ever after May 2026 layoffs cut 8,000 jobs and roughly 7,000 workers were moved into AI units with little say. Bier said X is hiring web and data engineers and data scientists, aiming the message at “neglected” workers. BeInCrypto also cited Polymarket showing 2026 tech layoff odds at 67%.
