Ethereum Releases Monthly Ecosystem Update Covering L2 Migration, Stablecoin Settlement, and Developer Tools

Ethereum published a monthly ecosystem summary outlining multiple launches and upgrades across Layer-2 scaling, payments and finance, privacy and security, developer tools, and governance infrastructure. According to Odaily, the update includes progress in network expansion, institutional finance initiatives, and new standards for security and compliance.

On scaling and infrastructure, Ronin Network completed its migration to an Ethereum Layer-2. The Arbitrum Foundation said LG Electronics’ blockchain team is piloting on-chain advertising on its network. Base introduced its first standalone upgrade, “Azul,” which it said improves performance to about 5,000 transactions per second and adds several execution and consensus improvements.

In payments and finance, Mastercard expanded stablecoin settlement support to cover assets including USDC and PYUSD, with settlement available on the Ethereum mainnet and Layer-2 networks. Cash App launched USDC functionality, enabling nearly 60 million users to send and receive on-chain. JPMorgan Chase launched a second tokenized money market fund on Ethereum.

For privacy and security, the Clear Signing standard officially launched to address “blind signing.” SEAL 911 and Wonderland jointly introduced the DARC risk and compliance standard.

On the development and tooling side, Hardhat version 3 reached a stable release with support for Solidity testing and multi-chain development. The ENS ecosystem introduced ENS8004, which converts domain names into verifiable on-chain AI agents.

The summary also cited ongoing experimental and ecosystem efforts, including the LIFI Intents intent execution framework and Aragon-related work on on-chain governance documentation.
