Canada midfielder Ismaël Koné was stretchered off during Canada’s World Cup match against Qatar after a potentially serious left-leg injury from a tackle by Qatar midfielder Assim Madibo, according to Yahoo Sports. Madibo’s yellow card was upgraded to a red after review, and Koné left with his left leg in an air cast and was replaced by Nathan Saliba. Qatar also had Homam Ahmed sent off in the 33rd minute, leaving Qatar to finish with nine players.
