US men’s national team coach Mauricio Pochettino said Christian Pulisic trained individually all week and that a late medical meeting would determine whether he is available for the United States’ second group-stage match against Australia on Friday afternoon, according to Yahoo Sports. Pulisic injured his calf in training last week and was pulled at halftime of the US’ 4-1 win over Paraguay after aggravating it, and he has since followed a “modified training program,” including separate sessions in Irvine, California, and again Thursday in Seattle.
