Ivory Coast striker Elye Wahi will miss Saturday’s World Cup game against Germany in Toronto after he was not authorized to enter Canada and will remain in the United States, according to Yahoo Sports. The Athletic reported Wahi, 23, was arrested in France two weeks ago in an ongoing match-fixing investigation tied to allegations he deliberately received a yellow card for OGC Nice against FC Metz on 17 May; he has not been charged and had been cleared to travel to the U.S., where he played in Ivory Coast’s 1-0 opener over Ecuador.
