Iranian President Pezeshkian posted on social media the text of a memorandum of understanding signed with the United States.
According to Odaily, under a U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement, the United States and its allies are obligated to ensure a $300 billion fund is provided for Tehran.
U.S. President Donald Trump said this week that Iran would need the funds because “we bombed them.” U.S. Vice President Vance said last week that Iran “may receive” support from the fund and that Gulf countries would finance it, though it remains unclear which Gulf countries would participate and no country has publicly committed funding so far.
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said in an interview on Wednesday that he was not aware of details about the fund, and noted a “serious lack of trust” between the sides after Iran attacked Gulf countries during the war. He added that trust must be rebuilt before discussing any form of economic cooperation, saying the situation is still at a very early stage.
