Aztec Labs said it is investigating a potential vulnerability that may affect a deprecated Aztec payments product after about $2 million was transferred from an immutable smart contract. According to Odaily, the product involved was an unchangeable Stage 2 Rollup version that was deprecated in 2021 and shut down in 2022.
Aztec Labs said it does not hold admin keys or have any control over the system, and cannot pause or upgrade it.
The team said the incident is separate from the Aztec Connect product attack reported on June 14.
The Aztec Foundation said the attacked product is not related to the current network or to any smart contracts associated with the AZTEC ERC20 token.
