U.S. President Donald Trump said he decided to support Intel in exchange for a 10% equity stake, arguing the United States needs semiconductor design and manufacturing to return to domestic production.

According to Jin10, Trump wrote in a late-night post that the administration had arranged multiple partnerships tied to Intel. He said Nvidia agreed to work with Intel to manufacture what he described as its “first-tier” chips.

Trump also said Elon Musk agreed to build a facility he called “TerraFab,” which he described as the world’s largest chip factory, and that it would be designed jointly with Intel’s technical team.

In addition, Trump said Apple agreed to cooperate with Intel to design and manufacture its chips in the United States.

Trump claimed Intel was valued at about $100 billion when the offer was made and is now worth more than $600 billion, adding that the increase over nine months exceeded $500 billion. He also said the U.S. stake is now worth more than $60 billion.
