Dan Taylor of Man Group said SpaceX’s valuation does not reflect the overall health of the AI sector and appears to be driven more by a personal bet on CEO Elon Musk than by an AI narrative.

According to Jin10, Taylor said SpaceX is unlikely to achieve Musk’s target of $1 trillion in revenue by 2030. He added that investors still place significant trust in Musk given his track record as an entrepreneur, and that this “trust premium” is a key factor supporting SpaceX’s valuation.

Taylor also said the pace of issuance by AI-related listed companies will depend on whether the current wave of AI spending continues.

He noted that technology stocks have already shown clear divergence, with strong gains in semiconductor-related segments alongside declines in software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies. Taylor said this split may persist until the commercial returns on AI investment become clearer.
